ST AUSTELL are top of Western Counties West after winning for the ninth game in a row against Crediton.

The win for the Saints’ coupled with Devonport Services 20-20 draw with the Wadebridge Camels has seen St Austell leapfrog the Services into first place.

It is a victory that delighted the club’s director of rugby Steve Murley and he told the Voice:“With the league season now nine games old I think we are starting to see who the better teams are in this league.

“I have been really pleased to see the way that the lads have developed and taken on board some new ideas that we tried to introduce and I think our position is well deserved...
