LOADS OF FUN: Goats at Spring Show

MAY’S Country Store was the host venue for the Cornwall Goatkeepers Association to host their Spring Show.

The eagerly anticipated event saw various classes including male kids over two months and under one year, pygmy bucklings over one year and under two years, pygmy adult males over two years, female kids over two months and under one year, goatlings over one year and under two years, dairy milkers/adult female pygmies two years and over, veteran pygmy female over seven years, dam and daughter, dam and male progeny, pygmy sire and progeny min two progeny and pygmy wethers/pet female (not entered in breed class).

Club secretary Julia Clarke was pleased with the turn out. She said: “This is the first show of the season for most, this show provides a friendly, relaxed atmosphere for novice and experienced goatkeepers.

“This is also an excellent opportunity to see this year’s kids from some of the best breeding lines.

“It’s a shame the weather isn’t at its best but thankfully it hasn’t deterred breeders and visitors alike.”
