Trenance bowled over by tournament success
TRENANCE TROPHIES: The winners from another successful annual tournament held at Trenance Bowling Club including David Hocking, Sonia Arthur, Ray Hocking who were presented with the Triples Cup by Bill Goudge

TRENANCE Bowling Club’s annual tournament has once again been a great success and, with good weather for the majority of the week, it was wonderful for both players and spectators.

The organisers Bill Goudge, Josie Gillingham and their teams helped things flow very smoothly from the preparation of the green to providing sustenance to a considerable crowd of people.

There was some very good bowling over the week with many matches coming down to a last end decider. This was continued to the finals day on Saturday with four very close games that gripped the spectators. A fitting end to a wonderful week.

John Pearce was crowned Singles Champion after beating Terry Kellow while Alistair and Kevin Williams were winners in the Pairs competition. The Triples Cup was held aloft by Sonia Arthur, Ray Hocking and David Hocking while Pat Brooks, Rex Emmett and Mike Heard won the Triples Plate.

Trophies and engraved glasses were presented by sponsors Brian Start and Andrew Henwood as well as the tournament organisers.
