ALL SMILES: Crantock´s Eddie Manning celebrates with his silverware

CRANTOCK’s Eddie Manning retained his county individual snooker title with a 5-3 victory against former champion and STR Clinton teammate Rob Johns.

In an exciting high quality final, Rob got off to the best start winning the first frame but Eddie, pictured, levelled the scores after winning the second and then made breaks of 32 and 54 to go 2-1 up. Rob bounced back with an 81 break to make it 2-2 going into the interval.

After the break, it was Rob again who got off to the better start making a 40 break and dominating the frame to make it 3-2. However, Eddie hit a 62 in the sixth frame to make it 3-3 and then comfortably won the last two frames to take the match, finishing off with a 73 break.

Unfortunately though, Eddie went out at the quarter-final stage of the English Amateur Snooker Championship the previous weekend, losing 5-3 to Josh Baddeley.
