England call-up for Tretherras student
ABSOLUTELY CHUFFED: Tretherras student Katie Robinson was thrilled to be called upon to represent England Women’s Under-15s

NEWQUAY Tretherras starlet Katie Robinson has earned a call-up for England Women’s Under-15s double-header with Belgium later this month.

In August, just a month after turning 14, Katie became England’s youngest squad member and the only girl in Cornwall to have earned the call.

After impressing on national duty, she has now been included in England’s squad that will travel to Belgium’s Football Centre in Tubize for back-to-back fixtures on Thursday, April 13 and Saturday, April 15.

She said: “I am absolutely chuffed that all my hard work has paid off, I have attended four England pathway camps for England Under-15 ladies internationals which have all been amazing but to travel with the team and play representing my country is amazing."

A notice from the Football Association to Katie read: “Congratulations on your selection into this England squad.

“Only the best players are selected to play for their national team and both you and your family should be proud of your involvement.

“On behalf of everyone at The FA, I’d like to wish you the best of luck for this call up and your future International career.”
