LUCKY beachgoers stumbled across filming for the new Poldark series at Holywell Bay last Wednesday.

Stars Aidan Turner, 34, and Eleanor Tomlinson, 25, filmed intimate scenes while shooting the popular BBC period drama show’s fourth series.

The characters, Captain Ross Poldark and  Demelza, holding onto their daughter Clowance, shared a kiss on the water’s edge as a huge production team surrounded the couple.

Aidan wore a dark aubergine coat, paired with a brown waistcoat, black trousers and black riding boots as he embraced his love during the emotional reunion scene.

Ross and Demelza looked to have moved on from the dramas of the last series, which saw her seek solace in the arms of a naval office lieutenant.

Ross was also filmed on the beach having some father-son time with Jeremy. Their children, Jeremy and Clowance, appeared to have aged significantly, indicating the latest series moves forward some years into the future.

Onlookers also spotted Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson filming scenes for the new series at Park Head on Monday, September 11.

The fourth series of Poldark is expected to return in early summer 2018. Poldark writer Debbie Horsfield stated the new series will include “animosity” and “moral” struggles.

A Facebook page has revealed where filming for the fourth series will be staged, which has attracted Poldark fans in their droves trying to catch a glimpse of the stars of the show.

Emma Russell from Country View Cottages was among people who gathered to watch the filming.

Emma said: “We headed down to Holywell Bay and stumbled upon the filming of Poldark’s upcoming series, which of course got us very excited.

“We couldn’t resist hanging around to see if we’d be lucky enough to get some snaps of Captain Ross Poldark and ended up with some really great footage and images of some of the cast which has since gone crazy on the business’s Facebook and Instagram feeds.

“We left feeling a little bit more in love than we already were! Now we can’t wait until it hits our screens in 2018.”

Captain Ross Poldark and  Demelza were previously filmed at Holywell Bay having a “lovers’ tiff” for the last series, which was shot in March of last year.
