Students at the Tretherras Prom.

A GROUP of students took centre stage last week when they enjoyed a glamorous prom at the Atlantic Hotel.

The Year 11 Tretherras leavers prom saw large crowds gathering to watch nearly 200 students arrive in a ‘fantastic’ range of luxury, vintage and sports cars.

The students, wearing their best dresses and suits posed for pictures before enjoying an evening meal with a beautiful ocean backdrop.

They were joined by Headteacher Mrs Fairbairn, their Head of Year Ms Ollerenshaw and many other teachers who have supported them for the past five years.

After dinner speeches saw a novel and fun set of awards handed out to prom night guests including Prom King and Queen which went to Joe Clifton and Tegan Retallack, Prom Prince and Princess which was awarded to Oli Davies and Maisie Dilley and Best Couple which was won by Sam Crisp and Maisy Johnson.

Ms Ollerenshaw also received the Best Teacher award. She said: “It’s been a whirlwind, I can’t believe five years have passed so quickly! I am very proud to see how much they have all grown up and are now ready for the next chapter in their lives.  A huge thank you to everyone involved and to the Atlantic Hotel for their support.”
